In a recent post, Sundae Fundae, I discussed that any day at our house is often a Sundae Fundae. We make sundaes at home and when we are away. We have traveled a lot this summer as a family and with friends and find our selves often going to our favorite treat for dessert. The makings for sundaes are easy to travel with. The unopened toppings don’t even need to be refrigerated and you can pick up ice cream at most convenience stores these days which makes building a sundae anywhere easy peasy! On a recent trip to Florida we packed up our favorite toppings and were able to enjoy Sundae’s on a couple of days during our trip. It’s not often that all six of us can agree on a dessert. Sundae’s we all agree on and enjoy sharing it together every time. When making a sundae we love using vanilla ice cream. Usually there are so many delicious flavors on top of the sundae that we enjoy staying basic with our ice cream. You can’t beat the delicious classic flavor such as vanilla. Our favorite sauces to put on top of the ice cream has always been by Smucker’s. We love their hot fudge and caramel sauce. It’s just to die for when you put the two together!! If you don’t like hot fudge and caramel sauce like we do, Smucker’s offers a very large variety of other toppings for you to choose from. I have found that Walmart carries a very wide selection for a very unbeatable price. It’s always our go to place to pick up our favorite Smucker’s toppings.
After the hot fudge and caramel sauce we top the ice cream with some whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry. You can not forget the cherry!! It’s what I save for my very last bite. I’ve shared with you our favorite way to build a sundae. Now it’s your turn. What are your favorite flavors of ice cream in a sundae and what are your favorite toppings? I can’t wait to hear from you. Have a great remainder to your week! XOXO, Deanna
