Hi everyone!! I hope that you are all doing well. This past weekend I was very lucky to get to help host a Gender Reveal Party for my brother and sister in law. We have all waited very long to find out what they are having and it was SO much fun to get to celebrate with the two of them on this very special day. I want to share with all of you ALL the fun ideas that Ashley, my sister in law, did for the party. These ideas are just too cute not to share! I don’t take ANY credit for all the gender decor. It was all Ashley!! All I did for this party was offer up my house and make the cupcakes. This was the easiest party ever to host!! The parents to be wanted to find out the gender of their baby by cutting into a cake that had either pink or blue icing in the middle. At Ashley’s last Dr’s appointment she had the nurse call The Cake Lady and tell her the gender. That way nobody at the party knew the sex and was able to all be surprised together. Great idea!! I went with Ashley to get the cake and Sylvia, The Cake Lady ,that made the cake was SO cute! She was SO excited about what was inside the cake. At this point only two people knew the gender of the baby, Sylvia and the nurse, and she was just beside herself with excitement for Ashley and my brother. SO much fun!! Ashley’s colors for the party were pink, blue, and gold. Notice the white forks on the table. She made dots of glue on each forks handle and sprinkled gold glitter on each one. Is that not the cutest idea?? LOVE!! Below she used onesie chocolate molds and filled them with white chocolate and sprinkles. As you can see she made both pink and blue onesie chocolate pops. Around all the sweets she place pink flowers in blue mason jars. Years ago her best friend painted her a pink and blue swirl painting never knowing that down the road it would be used as a center piece at Ashely’s gender reveal party. Isn’t that sweet. Ashley let it be a surprise and when her best friend saw it on the table she couldn’t believe that she still had it and thought to use it for the party. It was fun to see her face. Ashely and Danny had already picked out names for their boy or girl. Casey for a boy and Camryn for a girl. So the cotton candy on the table was labeled Casey Cotton Candy and Camryn Cotton Candy. We served pink and blue deviled eggs, I learned how to dye them here., along with pink and blue Peeps. Her Bun in the Oven sign was recycled from her pregnancy announcement photos that I got to take of her. We served Camryn Cocktail and Casey Creamsicle punch. The punches were made using sherbert, ginger ale, and either blue kool aid or pink fruit punch. Had to also put some “baby’s” breath out on the bar to tie everything together!! I made these vanilla cupcakes with some of my famous cream cheese icing. I also dyed the icing using pink and blue food coloring.
- 2 (3 ounce) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- In a mixer beat your cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until combined and light and fluffy.
- Gradually add your powdered sugar beating well.
- Taste your frosting... add additional powdered sugar until you reach your desired flavor.
We put together a gift and favor table in the hallway. On the favor bags Ashley printed a wallet size photo of her latest sonogram. Aren’t these the cutest thing? Look at that precious profile!! I’m so in love already!! Below Ashley and Danny are about to cut the cake!! They are so excited and so nervous. They were shaking!! Boy or Girl?!?!?!
IT’S A BOY!!! Casey will be here to greet us in August!! I can’t wait to meet you buddy!
I hope you enjoyed me sharing a little piece of our lives with you. We are fully blessed to have little Casey in our lives. And I am fully blessed to have sweet readers like all of you. I hope that your weekend is great and that you got some Gender Reveal ideas to share with your friends and family. XOXO, Deanna
