Valentines Day! Some people love it and some hate it! Regardless of whether you are alone or in the middle of experiencing the greatest love of your life, know that this Valentines you are also LOVED by our Lord and Savior. The bible tell us that “We love because He first loved Us.” 1 John 4:19. Jesus shows us His love everyday. He is always beside us, he is there to comfort us in difficult situations, and he is there to celebrate with us in times of joy. What a wonderful feeling to know that you are so greatly loved. It’s hard to comprehend how wide and deep His love is for us. This Valentines Day I wanted to paint the 1 John 4:19 verse on a wooden sign and place it up on the mantel. This project wasn’t hard it just took a little bit of time between each step. Totally worth it though! I love how it turned out.
First, I took some old left over pieces of wood and cut them to make a 2′ x 4′ wooden sign.
I stained the wood in my favorite stain!
I typed out the verses in Photoshop, printed, and then placed onto the boards.
Using Martha Stuart transfer paper, I placed the transfer paper underneath the words and then using the end of a pencil traced around each letter. This is one of the easiest transfer methods I have found. If you are wanting to transfer an image this is the way to go.
Below is what it looked like when I was finished with a word.
I then went over the traced words with some white and red paint!! I can’t believe how easy it was to paint the words. I love how it turned out.
Today, I would like to pray Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians for all of YOU that you will know His love. “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:16-21 Now, replace the word “You” in this scripture with your child’s name, your name, or someone that you love and say this prayer for them. It’s pretty powerful!
Happy Valentines Friends!!
