Hi guys!! I’ve missed writing to you so much over the holidays! I think about you all of the time and am CONSTANTLY creating in my head! I can’t make it stop! I go to bed at night making lists of what I want to make and share with all of you. Thank you for allowing me to come onto your screen and be a small part of your world each week. It means the world to me!
How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for a better holiday with my family. All of my immediate family was able to be with us over the break. At one point the men were smoking some pork outside , the girls were in the kitchen making pie crusts and the kids were happily playing. It was perfect! My soul was at complete peace having everyone that means the world to me under one roof for that moment. I soaked in every minute that I could. I hope that each of you had a relaxing and joyful break as well.
How was your turkey meal? Ours was de-lic-ious and Glorious of course! I know I’ve put on a few extra pounds in the past week, but that’s ok it was Worth It!! After everyone left we went and cut down a Christmas tree in Devine TX at Devine Acres Farm. It’s tradition and we have done it every year. Up until this year we went to a farm outside of Austin, but this year we tried a new place and fell in love with it. I’m so thankful that we found the place because I didn’t know what we were going to do to keep this tradition alive. It’s one of the best ways to get into the holiday spirit and bond as a family. Below is a picture of our tree right before we cut it down. I LOVE these little people with my whole heart! You don’t even know!!
Another favorite way to get into the holiday spirit at home is to have it smelling like Christmas. Having this Holiday Potpourri on my stove is a MUST from Thanksgiving till New Years. It’s so easy and CHEAP to throw together and you can leave it sitting out in a pot for several days before you need to make a new batch. This potpourri makes your whole house smell wonderful! It’s like you jumped inside of a warm cup of hot apple cider and are swimming around in all of its greatness! Not kidding, your nose is thanking you!! Trust me!!
All you need to make this Holiday Potpourri is a quartered orange, cinnamon sticks, cranberries, and cloves. Put it in a pot, cover with water, place on the lowest heat on your stove and just let steam. Continue to add water when needed. You do not want the water to get too low and have your scents burn. That would NOT be glorious so be sure to keep water covering your spices. What do you do to get you into the holiday spirit?
Have a blessed week everyone!
