About a week ago I was asked to review some coconut water by Cocozia. This type of coconut water is clear, only 70 calories, and contains no processed ingredients. It is 100% organic which I love. I knew that whatever I made I wouldn’t have to add any sweetener because it has a naturally sweet taste already. The coconut water tasted a little funny to me all by itself. It’s a flavor that I’m not really used to. I was surprised to find that it didn’t taste a whole lot like coconut. I know several people that drink it because it is truly an excellent drink after an intense work out and better for you than any sport drink. It is full of potassium, magnesium, and electrolytes. It is a drink that I wouldn’t mind getting used to drinking.
When writing my review I wanted to see if I could come up with a delicious recipe using the water to share with all of you and I think I came up with a pretty yummy one. Being summer and living in a place that is really hot and all I want are cold beverages so I thought this would be a good place to start to creating a yummy drink. I’ve really been enjoying smoothies this summer and wondered what one would taste like using coconut water. I had some frozen strawberries in the freezer so a Strawberry Smoothie it was going to be! 🙂 This recipe is quick and easy. I used frozen strawberries, coconut water, milk, and ice. Blended it all together and I was sitting on the back porch enjoying my fresh delicious smoothie. I made some for my step daughter and I to enjoy and we both felt that the smoothies tasted very natural, light, and refreshing. The coconut water blended well with the strawberries and tasted really good. I recommend trying this smoothie and I look forward to trying more recipes using the coconut water because of all the natural benefits. I think my next one is going to be a pineapple, mango, and banana smoothie. I will let you know what I think. 🙂
