My Mother’s Day gift this year was a camping trip with my favorite boys! Yep! My pampering weekend consisted of mud (not the kind you put on your face), Hey hey hey rides, and long walks to the “comfort station”. I wasn’t completely sold on the idea when first mentioned to me as I’m sure most of you could understand, but I ended up having the best weekend that I’ve had in a while. And believe it or not it was very relaxing and comfortable. I think I might just be a roughing it kinda girl and never knew it! I even went to bed with mud on my feet (a huge thunderstorm rolled through the campsite minutes before we arrived…like a said I wasn’t sold at first… ahem..) and I didn’t even care because I was getting to snuggle with my littlest man under the stars and roast marshmallows over a Coleman stove because there was a burn ban going on even though it just rained a ton…but who cares! We were making memories and the boys were loving every second of it. Their eyes were huge with excitement the whole weekend which totally made my weekend even that more special.
We stayed at the Yogi Bear Campgrounds in Canyon Lake TX. They cater to young kids with all sorts of entertainment all weekend. The boys had so much fun with all the activities. The above picture was our home away from home for two nights. Nice and cozy! The below picture is what I’m hoping to move up to some day… hoping the hubby is reading this post. I haven’t broken the news yet to him. 😉 Would staying in one of these bad boys still be considered roughing it??? Hmm…
The pool was great for all ages. They had a shallow area for the little guys and a deeper pool for the older kids. Our four year old is learning to swim so he had fun in the deeper section this time swimming around.
They had a craft room set up so the boys could do some mothers day crafts. Both boys decided to paint me a MOM picture frame. They are keepers for sure!
This pillow jumping thing is just the best invention ever! I couldn’t get my husband or my boys off of the thing. They bounced forever! It was so funny watching the dads trying to bounce each other higher and the little kids just trying to stand up.
The campground had a really cool play scape with some fun slides. My boys and I had to go down this one together. They loved it! I hope that all of you ladies had a terrific Mother’s Day as well. 🙂
Have a blessed rest of your week.
